I can’t believe it, but my eldest is already 4 years old! When I asked him what kind of party he wanted, he immediately said that he wanted Winnie the Pooh birthday decorations. And I immediately thought, okay, that’s definitely doable. I’m sure I can buy Winnie the Pooh party supplies easily, right? But apparently not, because it’s not 1997 and all the kids are watching other things now but I’m sure I can definitely find them.
You don’t have to worry because this birthday party theme works for both girls and boys. First we will make a tree decoration with an arrangement of green balloons as leaves that will be attached to the wall. To make the tree, we can use regular brown construction paper by crumpling it with my hands and then using tape to attach it to the wall. The branches of the tree are just pieces of the same paper, and then we use brown paint to add a bark texture to the tree we made.
Once the tree is done, we just need to tape the balloons to the wall. You can also make little bees with construction paper and googly eyes, and make a “beehive” out of dollar store paper lanterns folded in half and taped to the wall.
After that we will make hunny pots that will be used to put our party cutlery in. We will go to the grocery store and buy yellow paint, markers and a brown flower pot. Then we will paint the top of the pot yellow to illustrate the honey spill and let it dry in the sun. Then we will write “Hunny” in the center of the pot with the marker we bought. It looks like all the decorations we made are done and you can have fun with this party!
