7+ FREE Festive Fun Blippi Back To School Birthday Invitation (Editable Canva)

Okay, are we really getting ready for another school year already? It feels like summer just started, and now suddenly we’re talking about backpacks, school supplies and getting everybody back into a morning routine. I’m not ready. I don’t think the kids are ready either. So before the school bus takes over our lives again, why not throw one more ridiculously fun summer Blippi Back to School party?

That’s where this Blippi back-to-school bash comes in. The invitation has Blippi, colorful school doodles and a big BACK TO SCHOOL message, but it still has that cheerful summer-party feeling. It doesn’t feel like we’re rushing the kids back into homework just yet.

And that’s probably how I’d handle the whole party. A little school theme, a lot of summer fun, some snacks, games, music and enough running around that everybody sleeps really well that night. At least that’s the plan.

Let’s Make the Invitation Feel Like Summer

I really like the invitation because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Blippi is right there with all the colorful school-themed details, while the wording makes it feel more like a fun summer bash than an actual school event.

The sample says BACK TO SCHOOL and SUMMER BASH HOSTED BY SAMANTHA & ALEX, with the date and party address underneath. If you’re making your own version, you can keep that same idea and make the summer bash the fun part of the message.

Add your party date, time, location and RSVP information, then let the colors and illustrations carry the rest. You could add pencils, crayons, ABC letters, books, a backpack or little school doodles around the edges.

Just don’t add every single school supply you can find. I’ve made that mistake before. Suddenly the invitation looks like the stationery aisle fell over.

The Font Should Have Some Energy

This invitation needs a font with some energy. For the big heading, I’d try Fredoka, Baloo 2, Lilita One, or Luckiest Guy. They’re playful without making the invitation difficult to read. For the smaller details, Poppins, Nunito, or Montserrat would keep things clean.

I like using one big personality font and one simple font. That’s enough.

You could make the party name colorful while keeping the date and address in black or another easy-to-read color. It gives the invitation that fun children’s-party look without turning the whole thing into a rainbow, and please don’t use six fonts.

I know they all look cute when you’re choosing them. They do not all look cute together.

Open Canva and Let the Party Take Shape

Canva is an easy place to build this kind of invitation. Start with a birthday or kids’ party template and then change the colors, wording, graphics and layout until it feels like your own event.

For this theme, I’d look for bright school and summer elements. Think pencils, crayons, notebooks, alphabet letters, stars, sunshine, backpacks and colorful doodles. Then keep the main message easy to spot.

Maybe put BACK TO SCHOOL at the top and SUMMER BASH underneath, or make your own wording such as “One Last Summer Adventure Before School.” Your party doesn’t have to copy the invitation exactly. The invitation is just there to get everyone excited.

And save the final version as a high-quality PDF when you’re ready to print. It’s one less thing to worry about when you’re already trying to remember where the school shoes disappeared to.

Check Everything Before the Printer Does

This is the part nobody wants to do, but it can save you from a headache later. Print one test invitation first. Check the name, date, time, address, RSVP information, spelling, colors and margins. Then put it inside the envelope you’re planning to use.

For this invitation, I’d go with a 5 × 7 inch card and an A7 envelope. The 5 × 7 inches refers to the invitation itself, while A7 refers to the envelope size that fits a 5 × 7 card.

For the cardstock, 250 gsm matte cardstock, around 80 lb cover, gives you a nice sturdy invitation without making it feel too heavy. If you’d rather have someone else handle the printing, Staples offers custom invitation printing, including 5 × 7 inch options.

One little test copy now can save you from holding a stack of invitations later and realizing the address has a typo. Not that I’ve ever done anything like that.

Now Bring Out the Cake

Now we get to the important stuff. I’d make the cake colorful and playful. You could use blue, orange and white frosting, then add little school-themed decorations like pencils, books, ABC letters or stars. A simple cake with a big Back to School topper would work too. Or go with cupcakes.

Honestly, cupcakes might be easier. Add little paper toppers with pencils, backpacks or colorful letters and you’ve got a whole dessert table without spending your afternoon trying to make one cake look like an actual school bus.

My Thoughts

That’s probably what I’d want this party to feel like. Not a school event. Not a serious back-to-school meeting. Just one more fun day before the backpacks come out and the mornings get busy again.

Let the kids run around. Let them eat cupcakes. Let them play with bubbles and chalk. Let them get wet if you’re brave enough. The school year is coming whether we’re ready or not.

So I’d squeeze every last bit of summer out of this party while we still can, and if Blippi is hanging around the decorations, the invitation and the cake, even better. At least somebody seems excited about going back to school.

FAQ:

  • Can I edit this invitation on my phone?

Yes. Canva works smoothly on phones, tablets, and computers, so you can edit the invitation anywhere.

  • What paper works best for printing?

I personally recommend 5×7 A7 matte cardstock paper (250gsm) because it looks clean, premium, and uses less ink.

  • Should I print a test copy first?

Definitely. I usually print one black-ink-only test page first to check spacing and spelling before using colored ink.

  • Can I send the invitation digitally?

Of course. You can save it as PNG or JPG and send it through text, WhatsApp, email, or social media.
